While waiting for my car to warm up during the snowstorm last week, I was messing around with my new Olympus TG-2 and noticed these perfect snowflakes hitting my windshield. I thought I’d try out the “super macro” mode on the camera, so I crammed it up against the inside of the backlit windshield and this is what I got… (click through for all sizes)
There’s definitely some chromatic abberation (especially in the third photo; you can see some green/purple fringes on the edges of the ice), but not bad for about 30 seconds from the inside of a car. Of course, I can’t go scuba diving with my SLR…
